STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — Early Saturday morning, fire crews responded to a structure fire on NW River Drive in Stuart.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a blaze that had already reached the attic. While they brought it under control within 30 minutes, they remained on the scene for several hours to extinguish hot spots.

The American Red Cross Palm Beach Treasure Coast Chapter responded to assist two adults who lived on the first floor. The second floor of the building was vacant at the time.
The Red Cross is providing the residents with financial assistance, health services, and recovery support.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
