PORT ST. LUCIE – A total of 28 Port St. Lucie Police cadets in training were sworn in as officers on Oct. 9 by Chief Leo Niemczyk at MIDFLORIDA Event Center.
“Congratulations and welcome to the profession,” Niemcyzk told the cadets during the ceremony. “Make us proud, make the community proud and, most importantly, make yourselves proud.
This brings the total of sworn officers up to 335, to help meet the department’s allocation of 356 officers for this fiscal year, Master Sgt. Dominic Mesiti said.
Officers sworn in were David Ahrens, Dylan Bedford, Layla Brown, Lauren Cleveland, Trevor Drawdy, Richard Edwards, Yuriana Escalera, Michael Garcia, Dierk Heintz, Dylan James, Casey Linam, Luke Long, Nicholas Manganaro, Monica Medeiros, Alessandro Morelli, Janiah Nicolas, Carlos Ortiz, Mckinzie Peyton, Freddie Pulver, Denis Raymond, Jessica Rios, Alan Rosenberger, Alec Sanchez, Page Sanders, Ryan Schemtob, Rudy Silva, Alexandra Toler and Jose Velez.
