A popular clothing chain with 16 Florida locations is planning to close all its locations after 25 years in business.

Francesca’s, a women’s clothing and jewelry store, is in the process of liquidating all its inventory and will close soon, according to Women’s Wear Daily.

The news comes after the chain filed for bankruptcy in 2020. At that time, Houston-based Francesca’s had about 700 stores and announced 140 locations would close, USA Today reported.

In Florida, Francesca’s has locations in Clearwater, Pensacola, Lake Buena Vista, Miramar Beach, Sunrise, Ocala, Destin, Orlando, Lakeland, Gainesville, Melbourne, Naples, Altamonte Springs, Brandon, Pembroke Pines and St. Petersburg.

The company was started in 1999. Since then, it’s grown to more than 450 boutiques in 45 states. Francesca’s also has at least 3,400 employees.

Francesca’s has not publicly confirmed the closing. Currently, its online store is advertising sales of 20 percent off.
