The next time you’re in the mood for pizza, just know you don’t have to travel far for a slice of the very best in the country!
While the question of where to find the best pizza is quite the debate, our love for the dish is indisputable. Travel guide site Fodors recently named the nation’s best slices worth planning a trip around, from Detroit deep dish to New York thin crust. And Miami’s ‘O Munaciello made the cut at No. 6!
Known for its Neapolitan-style pies, this incredible pizzeria has two Miami locations: one on Biscayne Boulevard in the MiMo district and another on Coral Way. They use ingredients like San Marzano and Piennolo cherry tomatoes, San Daniele prosciutto and fior di latte mozzarella imported directly from Italy. In fact, their commitment to quality is so high that they operate another location in Florence!
There are about 30 pizzas to choose from on the menu, ranging from minimalist margheritas to Genovese style, topped with the region’s famed pesto recipe.
This isn’t the first time ‘O Munaciello has earned national recognition. In 2024, 50 Top Pizza ranked it one of the best in the U.S., in addition to Española Way’s La Leggenda Pizzeria. And in 2022, pizzamaker Carmine Candito won the World Pizza Champion contest in Las Vegas, whose winning pie featured mozzarella, sausage, mushrooms, peppers, Piennolo cherry tomatoes and Parmesan. The creation is now featured on the menu as the “Las Vegas” pizza.
