The Florida Education Association is backing Senate Bill 320, known as Administrative Efficiency in Public Schools. The proposal would allow school districts to offer teachers multi-year contracts and require higher pay for educators who hold advanced degrees.

TRAFFIC ALERT | The northbound lane of North Manhattan Avenue is closed between West Spruce Street and West Boy Scout Boulevard while the Tampa Water Department repairs a water main break. There will be barricades and signs in the area to help reroute traffic. The work is expected to be completed with a return to normal traffic patterns by 4:30 p.m., Friday, weather permitting. The Tampa Water Department may need to return at a later date to complete additional work.
LEVEL UP ARTS GRANT | The city of St. Petersburg has launched the Level Up Arts Grant for nonprofit arts and culture organizations with budgets of $50,000 or less. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on April 30, or until funds are depleted. View additional information about the Level Up Arts Grant.
ATTRACTIONS | Universal Orlando officials announced a new roller coaster coming to its Universal Studios Florida park. “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” will join the lineup of Universal Studios Florida coasters in 2027. The ride replaces the “Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit” roller coaster, which closed in August 2025.
