A town hall organized by a city civic watchdog group is set for next week.
Organized by the Take Out the Trash Committee of Cape Coral, the People’s Town Hall to bring “the community together to demand accountability, transparency & integrity from our local government,” is set for 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Lake Kennedy Senior Center.
“We wanted the citizens to be able to meet the people behind Take Out The Trash,” said Kyle L’Hommedieu, the committee’s chair. “We look forward to meeting the citizens.”
The goal of the meeting is to have a Meet and Greet while hearing from residents concerning city-related issues
The format of the Town Hall, which is still being fined tuned, will include an introduction from each board member and questions from the community.
“We most likely will be speaking of the Yacht Club project and probably the Old Golf Course,” L’Hommedieu said.
Refreshments will be provided.
The committed formed in April 2025.
Its members frequently speak during Public Input at Cape Coral City Council Meetings.
Lake Kennedy Senior Center is at 400 Santa Barbara Blvd.
