TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida’s Department of Law Enforcment says it will not be stepping in to investigate a so-called missing million from the City of Tallahassee.
On Tuesday, the city watchdog group, Citizens for Government Accountability, pressed the Tallahassee Police Department for answers on its investigation.
The group alleges more than a million dollars were paid to a scam vendor in 2024.

At the time, a commissioner said it was paid to a scammer and no city records show anyone in the treasurer clerk’s office disciplined for the error.
A city spokesperson says the investigation is still ongoing, but advocates want an independent group to step in.
Friday night, FDLE confirmed that they reviewed the complaint, sent to them by the watchdog group, and said no investigation was warranted at this time.
