CAPE CORAL, Fla.—The Cape Coral Animal Shelter will host its 6th Annual PJ’s and Paws — A Night at the Shelter on February 27. This unique pajama party benefits the animals residing at the shelter.

Participants will don their coziest pajamas and spend the night with shelter pets. The event encourages team building, as individuals and corporate teams are paired with dogs or cats for a night filled with activities such as reading bedtime stories, going for walks, and playing games.

Liz McCauley, Executive Director of the Cape Coral Animal Shelter, shared the event’s origins.

“Our first PJ’s and Paws was born out of necessity during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said McCauley. “What started as an experiment turned into something magical. We raised over $36,000, had an incredible amount of fun, and created an event that has since become one of our signature fundraisers.”

Participants will also engage in a painting party where pets create colorful art with human assistance. Each participant must raise a minimum of $2,000, aiming to reach a collective goal of $40,000 to support the shelter’s work.

To share the fun with the community, the event will feature Facebook Live check-ins. The shelter invites more participants and corporate teams to join in on this memorable night.
