HOBE SOUND, Fla. (CBS12) — A vehicle fire forced the closure of the southbound offramp to Exit 96 in Martin County on Thursday afternoon.
According to Florida 511, the ramp, which heads to Hobe Sound and connects drivers to County Road 708 (CR 708), was shut down as emergency crews responded.
Photos taken at the scene show a heavy presence of first responders.
The fire was first reported at 2:37 p.m. on I95 South near the Hobe Sound exit. By 2:41 p.m., Florida 511 labeled the incident as major severity and closed the offramp, warning drivers across the Southeast region to expect delays and consider alternate routes.

No details were immediately available about injuries or what caused the vehicle to catch fire. Authorities have not announced when the offramp will reopen, and delays are likely for southbound drivers approaching Exit 96.
