PORT ST. LUCIE – A 32-year-old man on Oct. 14 was arrested at a 7-11 near the 5000 block of NW St. James Drive, Port St. Lucie on drug charges and carrying a loaded handgun, according to Port St. Lucie Police reports.

Officers were searching for Russ Ben Aime, who was wanted on several charges, when the Port St. Lucie resident was spotted at the 7-11 at about 8:45 p.m.

Ben Aime first gave officers a fictitious name as he was being questioned, according to police reports.

Detectives also found a loaded handgun, more than a pound of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and over $4,000 in cash.

He had active warrants for trafficking in Oxycodone; possession of Oxycodone with intent to sell possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

He also was charged with giving a false I.D. to an officer; use/display of a firearm during a felony.

He is being held in the St. Lucie County Jail on a $520,000 bond as of Oct. 17.
