January 22, 2026 – In 2025, St. Petersburg recorded its lowest number of homicides, 10, since 1967. That represents a 44% decrease from 2024 (18), and is 44% lower than the five-year average, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department. Auto thefts and fatal crashes also decreased by 29% and 31%, respectively, and total crime was 16% in 2025.
