ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 44-year-old Orlando man was struck and killed by a vehicle late Thursday while riding an e-bike in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal wreck happened around 10:30 p.m. on West Oak Ridge Road at Harcourt Avenue, west of Florida’s Turnpike.
The FHP said a 40-year-old Orlando man was driving a 2016 Kia Optima east on Oak Ridge Road when he struck an e-bike that was traveling in the crosswalk.

The 44-year-old e-bike rider was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and was pronounced dead, according to an FHP crash report.
The Kia driver was not injured and remained at the scene, troopers said.
An investigation is ongoing.
