Just prior to the execution of the search warrant, detectives monitoring the residence observed a male leaving the residence, later identified as Kristian Araujo Ferreira Da Silva (DOB 01/03/1984). Da Silva entered a black Nissan Rogue and drove to a nearby 7-Eleven located at 3129 Chiquita Boulevard South.

Officers attempted a lawful vehicle stop in the gas station parking lot. As officers converged and activated emergency lights, the driver accelerated in reverse, narrowly avoiding contact with a CCPD K-9 vehicle and nearly striking an uninvolved citizen pumping gas. Witnesses at the scene confirmed the vehicle’s reckless actions and the danger posed to nearby bystanders.

The Nissan fled the area at a high rate of speed, driving northbound in the southbound lanes and running a red light at Chiquita Boulevard South and Veterans Memorial Parkway. Multiple 911 calls reported the vehicle’s erratic driving. Minutes later, the Nissan Rogue was found abandoned and damaged near SW 4th Street and Chiquita Boulevard South. Officers discovered a small baggie containing a white rock-like substance on the driver’s seat, which tested positive for cocaine, along with plastic baggies consistent with narcotic packaging and sales.

Shortly after, patrol officers located Da Silva walking near Ceitus Terrace, where he was detained. He was positively identified as the fleeing driver and arrested and charged with:
