TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a two-alarm fire in the 5000 block of North Jamaica Street on Friday morning.
Around 8:30 a.m., TFR responded to a single-story home fully engulfed in heavy smoke and flames between two houses. The fire quickly spread to a neighboring home and a second alarm was called.

TFR said crews entered both homes and conducted searches. They found one person inside and rescued them from the home. Firefighters also rescued multiple birds and fish from the primary home.

According to TFR, no firefighters were injured during the incident. The fire was under control in 50 minutes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
