Let’s not stand on ceremony here, the biggest news of the pregame window for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is the answer the question of whether Emeka Egbuka would play on Monday night.

It turns out he will, which is absolutely miraculous given where we were less than a week ago. After suffering a hamstring injury in last Sunday’s win over the 49ers, Egbuka seemed unlikely to play despite the Bucs having a long week for him to rest.

Stunning turnarounds have sort of been a theme for the Buccaneers this year, though, and Egbuka’s status falls right in line. He went from potentially missing a few weeks to being ready to suit back up in time for Monday.

He’s not the only weapon Baker Mayfield will be getting back, either. Mike Evans is set to make his return to Tampa Bay’s lineup after being out since Week 3 with a hamstring injury of his own. This is critical not only because it means two huge targets will be back and facing a Lions secondary without any of its starting defensive backs, but his march toward 1,000 yards is back on.

One name still missing is Bucky Irving, who will miss another game with a foot and shoulder injury. Chris Godwin is also out again, which makes the return of Evans and the surprise turnaround by Egbuka an even bigger deal.

Here’s a look at who won’t be suiting up for the Bucs on Monday night:

Not having Irving or Godwin hurts, but the circumstances still favor Tampa Bay. Brian Branch, the Lions best safety, is out after getting himself suspended for slapping JuJu Smith-Schuster after last Sunday’s game.

The Lions will also be missing Terrion Arnold, D.J. Reed, and Kerby Joseph who are all injured.

Getting a road win in Detroit won’t be easy, but the Bucs have already caught more than a few breaks and it feels like the stars are aligning for them to pull off another signature moment.
