NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — An American Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Jacksonville, Florida with 51 people on board was diverted to Norfolk International Airport Friday night due to what the airport was told were concerns about a potential fuel leak, a spokesman said.

The aircraft landed safely at Norfolk International and taxied to a gate without incident, airport spokesman Chris Jones said.

The aircraft was inspected, and everything came back clear. A spokesperson for American Airlines said there was an issue with a fuel system indicator light on the plane indicating a possible fuel leak, but after the inspection, no fuel leak was found.

The flight has since continued on to Jacksonville, the airline spokesperson said.
