Timing out showers, a few storms this weekend

  • January 24, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Isolated showers are possible on Saturday, but we should see a higher rain chance on Sunday.

Tonight Through Saturday Night

The weather pattern is looking mostly quiet to end the work week. A stray sprinkle is possible for Friday evening, but most are looking dry under a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Lows settle in the low-50s.

Clouds are looking to linger to start the weekend. A passing shower is possible, but it will not rain for everyone. Highs hover in the upper-60s under a partly sunny sky.

We are mostly dry and mild for Saturday night. Low temperatures hover in the mid-50s under a partly to mostly cloudy sky.

Tracking Our Sunday System

On Sunday, a cold front will march across the Big Bend and South Georgia. The first half of Sunday looks mostly dry. However, we are tracking showers and a few thunderstorms for the afternoon and evening.

A strong storm is possible, but the overall chance is low. A Level 1 Marginal risk of severe weather is in place for most of the region. The main threat will be gusty winds, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Stay weather aware, just in case.

Highs on Sunday are warm. We climb into the low-and-mid-70s under a partly sunny sky. The wind is also looking breezy.

Behind this system, we are turning cooler and drier by Monday morning. Lows settle in the upper-30s and low-40s.

Extended Forecast

Looking ahead, winter is set to return for early next week.

We are mostly dry on Monday under some sunshine. However, temperatures only rebound into the upper-40s during the afternoon. Lows are looking frigid. We tumble into the low-20s by Monday night.

Tuesday is looking dry, sunny and chilly. Highs hover in the upper-40s, with lows in the low-to-mid-20s.

Be sure to protect your people, pets, plants and pipes for early next week.
