WE’VE BEEN SPEAKING WITH PROTESTERS WHO SAY THE ESCALATING TENSION AND VIOLENCE TIED TO IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT HAS MADE THEM WARY ABOUT COMING OUT, WEARY ABOUT PROTESTING. BUT THEY SAY IT’S STILL SO CRITICAL TO THEM TO SPEAK OUT WHEN THEY FEEL SOMETHING IS WRONG. THEY HAVE BEEN IN LA, THEY’VE BEEN IN IN D.C., THEY HAVE BEEN IN CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA, THEY HAVE BEEN IN CHICAGO. THIS IS JUST PROBABLY THE MAYBE IT’S THE MOST VIOLENT, MOST VIOLENT ONE. I WOULD SAY LAST NIGHT IF ANYBODY SAW THE NEWS, THE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THAT LIVE IN MINNESOTA IN THAT COLD, COLD WEATHER THAT WENT OUT TO STAND UP FOR THEIR CITY. AND I THINK THAT’S WHY I’M HERE TODAY. IF THEY CAN GO STAND IN THAT COLD WEATHER, I CAN COME STAND OUT HERE WHEN IT’S, I DON’T KNOW, 75, 80 DEGREES. THIS PROTEST AGAIN STARTED ON ALL FOUR CORNERS OF BUMBY AND COLONIAL BEFORE PROTESTERS STARTED MARCHING. THERE ARE MANY PROTESTERS OUT HERE THIS EVENING AND A LOT OF PEOPLE HONKING THEIR HORNS.
