Miami Hurricanes linebacker Mohamed Toure wreaked havoc on the Indiana Hoosiers during the national title game a week ago, racking up a season-high 11 tackles and a pass deflection. It was his seventh season since entering college in 2019 — and he’ll be back for an eighth season in 2026, per CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Toure was the team-leader in tackles with 84 for the Hurricanes while also registering six pass deflections and two sacks in 16 games as Miami made a run as the No. 10 seed all the way to the national championship game.

As mentioned, Toure was a part of the 2019 recruiting class that included players like cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., wide receiver Garrett Wilson and safety Kyle Hamilton. All three have signed second contracts in the NFL.

But due to redshirting during his first season at Rutgers, a Covid year that didn’t count towards his eligibility in 2020, and two torn ACLs in 2022 and 2024, next season will count towards Toure’s fourth season of eligibility despite officially being in college for eight seasons.

While there is some draft buzz around Toure as a late-round or undrafted free agent in the NFL, the evolution of NIL allows players in his situation to evaluate where they can benefit the most financially.

Toure was an All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2025 and proved to be a key cog of the Hurricanes’ defense during their CFP run, putting him in position to command a healthy chunk of change in the form of NIL to return to Miami.

For his career, Toure has totaled 250 tackles, 15.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two interceptions and nine passes defensed.
