Since falling in the national championship to the Indiana Hoosiers less than a week ago, the Miami Hurricanes have felt the brunt of the transfer portal, watching a number of reserves depart from the program. But they’ve also replenished as well, as they added former Missouri star edge rusher Damon Wilson and several talented wide receivers.
As part of adding to the defensive line depth, head coach Mario Cristobal secured the commitment of former Nebraska defensive lineman Keona Davis on Saturday. CBS was the first to report the news.
Davis was a three-star and ranked as the No. 86 DL in the 2024 class out of Salpointe Catholic High School in Tuscon, AZ.
The 6-foot-5, 275-pounder contributed right away for the Cornhuskers as a true freshman, appearing in 12 games and totaling 10 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. He played more in 2025, starting 12 of 13 games and recording 32 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and a pass breakup.
The addition of Davis will certainly help strengthen the interior of the defense, as the former Nebraska standout is a proven contributor at the Power 4 level.
