An Apopka man was arrested and faces multiple charges, including arson and battery, after setting a shed on fire during a police standoff overnight, according to the Apopka Police Department. According to the Apopka PD, Richard Snow pushed a woman and threatened to kill her if she contacted authorities.When officers arrived on the scene, they located Snow inside a backyard shed that had been converted into a living space.Snow refused to exit and then purposefully set the structure on fire while still inside, Apopka PD said. As the shed became fully engulfed in flames, Snow climbed out of a window and attempted to flee.Snow was arrested and charged with first-degree arson, battery on law enforcement, battery with a prior conviction, tampering with a witness/victim, and resisting an officer without violence. No one was seriously injured in the incident. However, the fire forced nearby residents to evacuate from their homes.
