PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (WWSB) – Troopers said an 18-year-old was killed after traveling at a high rate of speed and crashing into a utility pole and a fence.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 1:04 a.m. Jan. 25 as the teen was driving south on Piper Road and approaching Jones Loop.
Pedestrian killed after being hit by impaired driver, deputies say
Troopers said the vehicle left the roadway before colliding with a utility pole and a fence.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
