The FSU Seminoles held their second Junior Day event of 2026 over the weekend. JT Austin, a linebacker/edge prospect out of Sandy Creek High in Georgia, was one of the recruits on campus.

This was his second trip to Tallahassee, as he also took an unofficial visit last November when Florida State played the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Edge coach Nick Williams, who took over the position last month, got to spend significant time with Austin, and it was extremely valuable.

“Florida State was my first Power 4 offer,” Austin said via Rivals. “Coach Williams has done a great job, and we’re building a strong relationship. We spent a lot of time together today.”

It’s not just Williams that Austin is bonding with. Head coach Mike Norvell has also left a great impression on him.

“I love the area, the environment, and what they’re building,” said Austin. “Coach Norvell has great energy and works hard. Florida State is very high on my list — relationships matter to me, and they’ve kept everything honest.

Austin has been a very productive player for the last two seasons. He racked up 42 tackles, eight sacks, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries as a sophomore. As a junior in 2025, Austin put up 57 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks.

The Seminoles will surely look to lock in more visits with Austin during his senior year. With that being said, they improved their status with him after this weekend.
