Severe threat ends, cold air rushes in

  • January 26, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – As the severe weather threat ends across the region, our attention turns to another blast of winter air.

Tonight Through Monday Night

Scattered showers will linger across the Big Bend and South Georgia for Sunday night. However, the threat for severe weather has faded. We are turning much cooler. Lows settle in the upper-30s and low-40s under a mostly cloudy sky. The wind will also stay breezy.

A stray shower could linger into Monday morning, mainly in our southeastern counties. However, most of us are drying out under a mostly sunny sky. Again, it will be breezy. Winds could gust up to 25 mph at times. Temperatures hover in the upper-40s during the afternoon.

For Monday night, a hard freeze is on tap. Be sure to protect your people, pets, plants and pipes. Lows tumble into the low-20s under a clear sky.

Middle Of The Week

The weather pattern is looking quiet and below average for much of the work week.

Highs on Tuesday top out in the upper-40s to low-50s under a sunny sky. Overnight lows plummet into the low-and-mid-20s.

We are dry under a mix of Sun and clouds for Wednesday. Temperatures reach the low-50s, with lows in the low-to-mid-20s.

Extended Forecast

Looking ahead, we are tracking more cool temperatures and low rain chances.

Thursday is looking dry and partly sunny. Highs reach the low-to-mid-50s, and lows fall into the upper-20s and low-30s.

An isolated shower could be possible on Friday, but the rain chance is unimpressive at this time. Temperatures top out in the mid-to-upper-50s under a partly sunny sky. Lows settle in the upper-20s and low-30s.
