Florida city ranked No. 1 in United States for most moving activity

Port St. Lucie was ranked the “hottest” Zip code in the United States in December.

MovingPlace, a moving service website, releases a monthly report for “Hottest ZIP Codes in America” that highlights Zip codes that see the most moving activity that month. The January 2026 report looked at data from December 2025.

The agency assessed “hotness” based on these criteria:

Move volume per capita: Number of moves with a destination in the Zip code per 1,000 people

Total move volume: Absolute number of moves with a destination in the Zip code

Biggest month-over-month increases: Zip codes with the biggest increases in moving activity compared to the previous month

How many people are moving to Port St. Lucie?

Port St. Lucie saw 16.2 moves per 1,000 residents in December. This is Port St. Lucie’s fourth consecutive month in MovingPlace’s top 10 ranking. Here’s the data from December:

Median household income: $79,560

Median house price: $450,000

Ranking streak: This is Port St. Lucie’s fourth consecutive month in the top 10 Hottest Zip Codes list, rising to No. 1 from No. 3 the previous month.
