A man was killed and his roommate was hurt in a shooting in North Miami Beach early Sunday, authorities said.
The shooting happened near the 1300 block of Northeast 157th Street at around 1:44 a.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the two men with gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, a 45-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, a 31-year-old man, was transported to a hospital and is now in stable condition.
Their identities have not been revealed, but authorities confirmed that the men were roommates.
The shooting was believed to be an isolated incident and there was no threat to the public, police said.
Still, some neighbors expressed concern.
“Usually I come from work late, like after 12 sometimes. Now I’m worried,” one man said.
The investigation continues.
