Miami area drivers paid more at the pump this past week, with the average cost of a gallon of regular gasoline rising 8.9 cents.

The average price of gas in Miami now stands at $2.90 per gallon, according to GasBuddy. Prices are 10.1 cents higher than a month ago but 28.6 cents lower than this time last year.

GasBuddy price reports show the cheapest station in Miami priced at $2.43 per gallon, while Key Biscayne stations reported the highest prices in the county at $4.49 per gallon.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline rose 7.5 cents per gallon last week, averaging $2.84 per gallon as the new week begins.

“Average gasoline prices have jumped for a second straight week as oil prices have climbed back above the $60-per-barrel mark amid ongoing geopolitical tensions,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
