Miami Hurricanes linebacker Mohamed Toure will return for his eighth season of college football this fall, according to reports.
Toure, 24, led the Hurricanes with 84 tackles in his first season with the program after spending six seasons at Rutgers from 2019-24. He is eligible for another season of college football because he redshirted his freshman season in 2019, maintained a year of eligibility due to COVID-19 in 2020, and missed two seasons due to injury in 2022 and 2024.
In total, Toure has played three full seasons of college football: two at Rutgers in 2021 and 2023 and one at Miami in 2025.
This past season, Toure helped lead the Hurricanes to the College Football Playoff national championship game, where Miami lost to Indiana, 27-21.
“I’m blessed to be playing with the players that I’m playing with,” Toure told The Athletic about his Miami teammates prior to the CFP title game. “These guys make me better every single day, and not just as a football player, but as a man. When I came into Miami, I didn’t know what to expect when I first committed. When I got here, these guys took me in. Man, it’s a real brotherhood.”
In 53 career games at Rutgers and Miami, Toure has 251 tackles, including 25.5 for a loss, 15 sacks, nine pass deflections, two interceptions, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
