With Ernie Sims as the new linebackers coach, Florida State is working to vastly improve its success in recruiting players at the position out of high school. Over the weekend, they extended an offer to 2027 prospect Theo Wilson during his Junior Day visit.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder is a three-star recruit out of Armwood High School in Tampa. He took to social media to announce his offer from the Seminoles.
“Extreme Blessed to receive an offer from Florida State University!🍢,” Wilson wrote.
Wilson is the nation’s No. 722 overall player and the No. 59 linebacker according to the 247Sports composite rankings. They also have him as the No. 76 prospect in the state of Florida.
The Seminoles are the 28th offer for Wilson. Other notable offers are from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Auburn Tigers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Indiana Hoosiers, and more.
Wilson was an absolute monster as a junior. He registered 96 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, one interception, two pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
Florida State is still looking for another linebacker commit in its 2027 recruiting class to go along with blue-chip prospect Gregory Batson. Wilson is certainly an ideal prospect for them to add.
