Jeffrey Vinik’s former home in South Tampa has been listed for sale just months after he signed it over to his former wife when the couple finalized their divorce.

The house, now solely owned Penny Vinik, was listed Sept. 30 and is being marketed for $19.8 million.

According to the listing from Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, the 14,919-square-foot house in the ritzy Tampa neighborhood has 9 bedrooms and 10 baths. There is a detached guest house, and it sits on 400 feet of the Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club’s golf course.

Among its features are 15-foot ceilings and a winding grand staircase; a main kitchen with a marble island opening to a casual family room; a full prep kitchen; a butler’s pantry; an outdoor kitchen with a brick pizza oven; a 600-plus bottle wine cellar; and a 48-foot-long, heated saltwater pool and spa.

The house also has fully fenced-in grounds, a three-car garage with two gated circular driveways, a full-home generator, two elevators and a state-of-the-art audio, video and security system.

The Viniks first bought the home in 2010, paying $3.2 million for it. This was the same year the hedge fund billionaire paid $170 million to buy the Tampa Bay Lightning.

According to Hillsborough County property records, Jeff Vinik, who is also the mastermind behind the Water Street Tampa development, signed the Tampa house over to Penny Vinik on April 30.

A spokesperson for Jeff Vinik says he continues to live in Tampa but would not comment on the sale since the property is no longer his.

The past couple of years have been busy for Jeff Vinik. In 2023 he sold his share of Strategic Property Partners, the company behind the Water Street development, and then last year sold a portion of the Lightning.

At the time of the SPP sale, Vinik said he has “been actively focused on simplifying my life.”

The house, which was built in 2006, was listed by Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s Paul DeSantis.

Premier Sotheby’s declined to comment.
