PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — A St. Petersburg man who crashed into the fence of a Pinellas County home early Saturday morning is accused of driving under the influence, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
An Acura sedan was heading south on South Keene Road at the time of the crash, just after midnight.
The driver, Alhan Eduardo Montes Jaramillo, 31, drove off the road and hit a fence at 1433 South Keene Road just after midnight, FHP said.
He continued forward across the yard until he hit the front of the home.
After the crash, Jaramillo ran from the scene until he was caught by a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office K-9 deputy, troopers said.
He was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, DUI involving property damage, and refusal to submit to sobriety testing, as well as resisting arrest.
