Junior Woman’s Club seeks new members
SEMINOLE — The Seminole Junior Woman’s Club is seeking new club members, women 18 or older from Seminole and surrounding areas. The club meets at 6:30 p.m. every fourth Thursday of the month at Lake Seminole Square, 8333 Seminole Blvd.
The group is dedicated to serving the community, particularly through programs helping children and Veterans. Club activities include providing a meal at the Ronald McDonald House in St. Petersburg, the SJWC “Share our Spirit” food drive, which helps feed Seminole children during Christmas break, and its annual purse auction in April to raise funds for programs in our community.
Anyone looking to serve the community and get together with others can join the club at a monthly meeting. To learn more, email us at GFWCSeminole@gmail.com, visit the club’s Facebook page or call 727-687-3077.
Hurricane recovery workshops to help COPE
SEMINOLE — Project C.O.P.E. (Caring for Our People in Emergencies), through Volunteers of America of Florida, is offering two free community workshops to support emotional recovery after last year’s storms. These sessions are designed to help individuals and families manage stress, build resilience, and find connection during the recovery process.
The Feb. 5 workshop will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will deal with grief relief and recovery after the storm. Learn techniques to reduce storm-related stress, regulate your mind, and promote emotional healing after loss.
The Feb. 12 workshop, also from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will discuss “Improv for Mental Wellness.” Find support, connection, and healing as the community continues to recover from Hurricane Milton. In this workshop, humor and creativity will be used to rebuild resilience, restore confidence, and strengthen community connection.
To register for either workshop, call 727-394-6918.
Both workshops will be held at the Seminole Community Library Program Room 105A, 9200 113th St.
