ORLANDO, Fla. — One of Central Florida’s longest-running and most well-known dinner shows is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever.

1. Capone’s Dinner Show debuted in Kissimmee back in 1992. It’s now reopening as Capone’s Underground at Dezerland Park in Orlando. It has all of the vibes associated with the notorious American gangster, Al Capone.

2. John Pyles has co-owned the production for decades. But he noticed a shift in Kissimmee traffic.

“A lot of the tourism kind of went from that little corridor – 535 and 192 – out toward Disney or up toward I-Drive,” he said.

3. Showing us through the new space for Capone’s Underground, he describes the show as a musical comedy with toe-tapping numbers and audience interaction.

“Over the last 5 years in Orlando, [I’ve seen that] everyone’s getting into that speakeasy theme. But we’re the original ones… We’re constantly evolving,” he said.

4. The pre-show is a gambler’s paradise, with craps, blackjack and other casino games available. (The winners get prizes instead of cold cash).

5. Capone’s Underground is open every day except for Mondays. Matinees are about to kick in, so check out the full calendar.
