“Approximately $12,000 in stolen roofing materials was recovered,” deputies stated.
TAMPA, Fla. — Video released on Tuesday by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office shows two people allegedly burglarizing a property, taking supplies that the sheriff’s office says were worth thousands of dollars. Moments later, deputies move in to make an arrest.
Deputies said they responded to the scene around 4:10 a.m. on Sunday to calls about an ongoing commercial burglary in Tampa at Mid-Atlantic Roofing Supply, where two men were captured on video using a dolly to move boxes from the business and across a fence.
The HCSO aviation unit responded to the scene, and upon arrival, helped coordinate deputies and a K-9 unit on the ground to detain and arrest Ricardo Pereira Gamez, 31, and Luis Enrique Sifontes Broche, 30.Â
Deputies say the two men were in the middle of a burglary at the wholesale commercial and residential roofing materials company.
In the video, the two men arrested are seen going in and out of the building using a dolly. At one point, Pereira Gamez and Sifontes Broche go inside the building, and footage from body cameras shows deputies and a dog position themselves outside the building before the two men come out one last time before deputies move to make an arrest.
“Approximately $12,000 in stolen roofing materials was recovered,” deputies stated.
Pereira Gamez and Sifontes Broche are now facing the charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure while wearing a mask, possession of burglary tools, trespass in an unoccupied structure and third-degree grand theft, the HCSO said. Hillsborough deputies added that Pereira Gamez was also charged with possession of cocaine.
