OXFORD, Ohio (WXIX) – The Miami RedHawks’ historic season continues with another major milestone.
Winning their first-ever home game at Millett Hall as a nationally-ranked team, the RedHawks are now just one of two teams in the nation that remain undefeated.
Their latest thrilling victory Tuesday night saw the RedHawks break ahead 86-84 over the Massachusetts Minutemen before a nearly sold-out crowd of 9,223.
Up next, the RedHawks will host Northern Illinois this Saturday in another home game.
It’s scheduled to start around 3:30 p.m. Tickets are sold out, with only a limited number of student tickets left.

This is certainly an exciting time for not only Miami University’s students and staff, but also for the residents and business owners in Oxford.
The bucolic college town is about 30 miles northwest of downtown Cincinnati.
From Millett Hall to Main Street, one thing is for sure: Everyone’s rooting for the RedHawks to win.
“I would love to see them in March Madness and just go all the way,” said The Pickle & Pig’s general manager, Kendall Wheeler.
“It’s gotten to the point now that I have to work my schedule around the RedHawks themselves,” said Oscar Sandoval, manager of O’Pub.
Miami’s blockbuster season is fueling an Oxford business boom.
“Over the past two weeks in those two hours leading up to game time, or if it’s an early enough game after the fact, we’re definitely seeing an escalated business level,” said Wheeler.
“I’ve had to staff a lot more people and just make sure that my bar is really stocked,” Sandoval said.
“So it’s definitely been increasing our business, and I can’t wait. We’re all big fans of the RedHawks here currently.”

Typically, January is a slow month following the holiday season for restaurants and bars in Oxford.
The team’s success has changed all that.
“Just because as soon as the games are done and obviously they’ve been winning…everyone wants to come out and celebrate,” Sandoval said.
“This is the busiest January we’ve ever seen. It’s really encouraging and exciting,” Wheeler added.
