ST. PETERSBURG — Police are investigating the death of a child following a stabbing inside a residence Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a call reporting a deceased child and an injured woman inside a home located at 1760 Tanglewood Drive NE.

The child was identified as 4-year-old Finley Joseph Cullom. Authorities said the child had suffered stab wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The child’s mother was also found injured, suffering from multiple stab wounds, and was transported to a local hospital. Police said she is in stable condition and her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Investigators stated that no one else was inside the home at the time of the incident and there is no indication of any ongoing threat to the community.
The case remains an active investigation.
