Wednesday is the perfect day to break out the winter gear.

Central Florida has a freeze warning that ends at 9 a.m. Wednesday before another freezing begins on Thursday from 12 a.m. to 9 a.m., according to NWS Melbourne.

A cold weather advisory will follow the same pattern on Wednesday, and begin on Thursday from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. The cold advisory area includes Lake, Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Okeechobee, mainland Brevard and inland Indian River counties.

Low temperatures for Wednesday range from 29 to 39 degrees, with wind chills ranging from 24 to 30 degrees. Temperature highs are in the 60s with sunny skies throughout the day.

There’s an expectation for an extended session of below-normal temperatures for the remainder of the week.

Boating conditions are poor and small craft should exercise caution over the Gulf Stream for seas up to six feet this morning, according to NWS Melbourne.

Looking ahead, much colder conditions are forecast for the weekend and early next week. On both Sunday and Monday mornings, an arctic air mass will bring an increasing risk of widespread, damaging freezes and dangerously low wind chills.
