TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Florida A&M football team picked up a much needed win on Saturday, a win that kept them alive in the SWAC race, and a win that gave them a much needed shot of confidence.
Head coach James Colzie III said it’s a lot easier to coach a group after a win than a loss, now they have to build on it.
A trip to Southern awaits the Rattlers, a team that’s now 1-6 in SWAC play after a loss to Prairie View A&M over the weekend.
Cozie acknowledges the Jags are struggling, but a trip to Baton Rouge still isn’t an easy one, and he expects a lot from a team that’s been very good over the last few years.
“1-6, 6-1, the environment is going to be the environment,” he said. “You look at the roster, you look at the guys that are playing, the guys that are preseason all conference, those guys are still playing. They’re obviously hoping to end a losing streak that’s not really accustomed in that environment. We come out, we’re expecting them to play one of their best games and if we go out there thinking that they’re not, then we can get in trouble right?”
Saturday’s game at Southern is set for a 5:00 kick Tallahassee time.
