January 28, 2026 – The Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFMD) has declared a Phase II Water Shortage for Pinellas County. The order, which mandates once weekly watering restrictions countywide, takes effect Feb. 8 and concludes July 1. SWFMD blames below-average rainfall and declining water supplies throughout the region for the order.
