The Fort Myers Seafood and Music Festival, a beloved annual event, has been put on hold due to chilly weather conditions.

Paragon Festivals and the Fort Myers River District Alliance, the organizers, have decided to reschedule the festival, which was set to take place at Centennial Park in downtown Fort Myers this weekend.

As of now, new dates for the festival have not been announced. WINK News reporter Sommer Senne reached out to event organizers to find out when the festival might be rescheduled.

The Fort Myers Seafood and Music Festival shared a statement on Facebook about the postponement, highlighting that “the safety and comfort of our guests, performers, vendors and staff is always our top priority, and this decision was made with that in mind.”

The festival was originally scheduled to kick off Friday and run through the weekend, offering fresh seafood, drinks, and live musical performances from R&B, jazz, and reggae artists.

However, the cold weather forecast, including rain on Saturday and temperatures dropping into the thirties on Sunday morning, prompted the decision to delay the event.

While it’s unfortunate that the festival won’t take place this weekend, there’s hope that it will be rescheduled for a time when the weather is more accommodating.
