ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A new Sunstar substation opened at HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital to support the South Pinellas County area.
The facility will serve as a strategic hub for Sunstar crews, allowing for faster deployment and improved coordination of ambulance transport and emergency medical services. Sunstar is expected to reduce response times to nearby neighborhoods and enhance support for the hospital’s emergency department.
“This partnership expands our shared commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered emergency care for our community,” Jessica Hoge, chief operating officer of HCA Florida Pasadena and St. Petersburg Hospitals, said. “Housing a Sunstar crew directly on campus helps ensure seamless collaboration between first responders and our emergency department, ultimately resulting in faster treatment for patients when minutes matter most.”
The opening reflects a shared commitment by Sunstar Paramedics and HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital to improve emergency readiness and deliver timely, efficient care to patients in need.
