Tallahassee Police Department welcomes 24 officers in first swearing-in ceremony of 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Several officers joined the ranks of the Tallahassee Police Department on Friday.

The first swearing-in ceremony of 2026 was held for the new class of 24 officers. The event also marked the beginning of the department’s 200th year serving the Tallahassee community.

TPD Chief Lawrence Revell said the officers will continue to uphold TPD’s legacy.

“These officers represent the next generation of public servants who will carry forward our longstanding principles of trust, loyalty and commitment into the next 200 years,” he said.

According to a press release from the city, one of the recruits comes from a family legacy of law enforcement, five have military experience, four have previous law enforcement experience and one has a PhD.
