TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Leon County deputies are asking the public for its assistance in connection to a shooting that occurred Thursday on Ballard Road, leaving a 70-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office announced in a social media post just before 4 p.m. Friday that it is requesting home security, doorbell, or dash camera footage as well as any information that could assist with the shooting investigation.
Furthermore, LCSO described in its post two suspects who deputies said fired shots in the Ballard Road neighborhood on Thursday as “slim in build,” with “one tall individual and one shorter individual.”
The call for assistance from the public Friday comes after the shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. Thursday in the 3600 block of Ballard Road, per the sheriff’s office.

Detectives determined that the two suspects fired “multiple rounds” toward nearby homes, hitting a 70-year-old man inside his home, LCSO said Friday. “Detectives believe he was not the intended target,” according to deputies.
On Thursday, an LCSO spokesperson told WCTV that the victim was transported to a hospital, where he was in fair condition and stable.
However, WCTV learned Friday that the 70-year-old was left with life-threatening injuries.
