Asher Ghioto is one of the top players in the 2028 recruiting cycle, and the Florida State Seminoles are heavily recruiting the five-star defensive lineman. The good news for the Seminoles is that he is from Jacksonville, Florida, and has already taken multiple visits to Tallahassee.
In fact, he will be taking another one this weekend to attend their final Junior Dar of the month. He announced his plans on social media, saying he was “Excited to be at Florida State this weekend” and sharing a photo of him and head coach Mike Norvell.
Ghioto’s last visit to FSU was in October, when he attended their game against the Miami Hurricanes, he was also on campus in September for their game against East Texas A&M. He visited campus five times in total last year, showing the Seminoles are a true contender in his highly contested recruitment.
He is ranked as the No. 12 overall player and No. 2 defensive lineman in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 5 player from Florida, and numerous programs are prioritizing him, despite his inability to sign with the program of his choice for nearly two more years.
Ghioto has had a sensational start to his high school career, being named a MaxPreps Freshman and Sophomore All-American. He finished his sophomore season with 84 tackles, 35.0 tackles for loss, 23.0 sacks, 22 quarterback hurries, one interception, two deflections, and a blocked kick.
