The Miami Hurricanes have signed Eastern Tennessee State offensive lineman Johnathan Cline, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Cline spent the 2025 season at ETSU after starting his career with the UCF Knights.
He played in 12 games for them in 2025, making two starts with all of his action coming at left guard. He also contributed on special teams and will have two seasons of eligibility with Miami.
Cline did not see the field in his two seasons at UCF and has played 138 offensive snaps in his career, earning a 58.0 Pro Football Focus grade. He has allowed just two pressures in 62 pass-blocking snaps and zero sacks.
He is unranked as a transfer portal prospect by 247Sports. He was considered a three-star prospect when he signed with the Knights in 2023. He is the second offensive lineman and 13th transfer overall that Mario Crisotbal and the Hurricanes have signed this offseason as they gear up for another playoff run.
The class is led by four-star quarterback Darian Mensah, who is ranked as the No. 16 player in the portal and the No. 6 quarterback by 247Sports. The group is ranked as the No. 4 class in the country and the best in the ACC by 247Sports. Its average player rating of 89.50 is the second-best in the nation.
