TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/ Gray Florida Capital Bureau) – Florida moms are pushing for more vaccine freedoms.
Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis hosted a roundtable at the Governor’s Mansion with mothers talking about the difficulties they’ve had navigating pediatric care.
The women say they opted out of vaccines for their children and now can’t find a pediatrician.
Last year the Department of Health got rid of some vaccine requirements for students in public schools.
DeSantis echoed the parents’ frustration.
“No parent should lose their pediatrician. No family should ever be dropped from care. No parent should be judged or excluded because of their vaccine choices. Unfortunately that is what we are seeing across the State of Florida,” she said.
There is a bill in the Florida Senate that would inform parents of certain information about vaccines for minors.
