Free Tax Prep
Pompano Beach – Tax counselors with the AARP Tax Aide Program will prepare and electronically file tax returns at the Emma Lou Olsen Civic Center, 1801 NE 6 St. This service is free of charge, with a focus on seniors who have moderate to low incomes. Walk-in tax preparation days and times are Monday and Thursday beginning Feb. 2 through April 13, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Appointments must be made in-person at Emma Lou, starting Jan. 29 at 9 a.m. All tax counselors are IRS certified and will prepare returns that are “in scope.” Taxpayers must bring a picture ID; Social Security card; and tax documents such as W-2, 1099, and 1098 forms, a copy of prior year’s tax return, and proof of bank account information, such as a voided check. If filing jointly, both spouses shall be present.
