Cape Coral, FL — The Cape Coral Police Department is investigating a fatal three-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. on October 20, 2025, on Burnt Store Road near Janis Road.

A truck was driving south on Burnt Store Road, while another truck pulling a trailer was heading north. An SUV was also going north, directly behind the truck with the trailer.

The preliminary investigation revealed as the two trucks approached each other, the southbound truck drifted across the center line into the northbound lane. It hit one of the northbound truck’s rear tires, badly damaging both vehicles. The northbound truck then lost control and spun before coming to rest off the roadway.

Immediately after that first impact, the southbound truck hit the SUV that had been following close behind the trailer. The SUV then rolled over and left the roadway, where it came to rest facing the opposite direction. The southbound truck then spun and stopped in the middle of the roadway.

Tragically, the driver of the southbound truck and both occupants of the SUV were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the northbound truck sustained minor injuries. Speed does not appear to be a factor.
