DETROIT, Mich. (WNEM) – The Lions welcomed the Buccaneers to Ford Field for Monday Night Football.
Detroit didn’t waste any time. On their opening drive Jared Goff connected with Amon-Ra St. Brown for a 27-yard touchdown.
The Lions defense was without Kerby Joseph, Brian Branch, D.J. Reed and Terrion Arnold and were stellar in the first half only allowing Tampa Bay to gain 58 total yards. For the game, Detroit only gave up nine points. Former SVSU defensive back Nick Whiteside played a key role tonight in the secondary. He had two tackles and tallied three pass deflections.
Jahmyr Gibbs was nearly unstoppable tonight. He racked up 218 total yards and two touchdowns.
The Lions earned a 24-9 win over Tampa Bay as they enter the bye week with a 5-2 overall record.
