TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – One person is dead following a structure fire in Tallahassee Friday night, according to the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD).
The department said that at about 10:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a reported residential structure fire on Juanita Way.
The structure was about 2,000 square feet according to TFD and the entire structure was “fully involved in fire” when they arrived.

“Due to the extent of fire conditions, crews initiated a defensive attack and worked to contain the fire and prevent further spread,” TFD said.
Three puppies were outside the home at the time of the fire, according to TFD. The department was assisted by Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Leon County EMS, Leon County Animal Control and the State Fire Marshal.
TFD has notified the American Red Cross to assist.
The State Fire Marshal is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
